There are just four days to go until Last Word Media’s and Bonhill’s inaugural Global ESG Summit, in partnership with the United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF).

Following the sun across four time zones this Thursday 27 May 2021, the event will stream into Asia, UK and Europe and the US with each region having a tailored agenda featuring ESG experts, fund managers, asset owners and data specialists to help educate and inform investors.

The programme has been designed to help our global audience of professional financial intermediaries via ESG ClarityPortfolio AdviserFund Selector Asia, Expert InvestorInternational Adviser and InvestmentNews to cut through the noise and gain tangible insights on how to integrate ESG processes and principles, wherever they are in the world.

We are delighted to have UNCDF executive secretary Preeti Sinha confirmed as keynote speaker. Sinha will be sharing her thoughts on the importance of emphasising the development impact of capital and ensuring it helps raise the living standards for people around the world.

Dylan Emergy, director of Last Word Research, will also be presenting Last Word Research’s findings on ESG fund flows and where the demand will be in the future. There will also be panels on the seismic shifts and trends to watch, data and stewardship, greenwashing and regulation as well as a deep dive analysis of the ESG investment solutions on the market, and where fund selectors believe there are gaps in the market for innovation.

Esther Pan Sloane, head of partnerships, policy and communications at UNCDF, commented: “Capital markets are playing an increasingly critical role in Sustainable Development Goal achievement, particularly for the goal of supporting promising projects in the least developed countries that have both development impact and financial viability. The consistent growth in ESG investing shows the demand for more information and options in this space.

“With our objectives closely aligned, Last Word and the United Nations are partnering on a range of initiatives, starting with the Global ESG Summit.  We are pleased that UNCDF executive secretary Preeti Sinha will be delivering the keynote speech at the Global ESG Summit to frame the insightful panel discussions and presentations.”
